MIA SELECT

At MIA Elite Academy, we are committed to developing Hawaii’s most talented soccer players through our structured, straightforward, and highly selective training programs. Our goal is to create an environment where players can reach their full potential while competing at the highest levels. We are proud to introduce our two exclusive, invitation-only programs: MIA SELECT and MIA SELECT NEXT.

MIA SELECT is our premier three-month program, designed for top-tier players who demonstrate exceptional skill, dedication, and potential. This program is divided into two teams, Team A and Team B, each consisting of approximately 15 players.

• Team A represents the highest level of competition within the academy, featuring the most advanced players who consistently perform at an elite level.
• Team B includes highly talented players who are on the verge of reaching Team A status, providing a competitive environment that encourages growth and improvement.

To maintain a high level of competition and development, MIA SELECT features a promotion and relegation system. Players who excel may be promoted to a higher team, while those needing more development may move to a team where they can better focus on improving their skills. This dynamic structure ensures that every player is placed in an environment that best suits their current abilities and development needs.

MIA SELECT GIRLS is a dedicated program for female players born in 2014 and 2015, offering the same elite-level training and competition as the boys’ program. With a focus on skill development, team dynamics, and leadership, MIA SELECT GIRLS aims to foster the next generation of top female athletes, providing them with the tools to compete at the highest level.

MIA SELECT NEXT is our second-tier three-month program, designed to identify and nurture young, talented players who show promise and potential. This team consists of 8-12 players, all carefully selected for their skill, dedication, and desire to improve.

MIA SELECT NEXT serves as a pathway for young players to advance into the main MIA SELECT program. Players who perform exceptionally well in SELECT NEXT have the opportunity to be promoted to MIA SELECT Team B, allowing them to challenge themselves further and continue their development at a higher level.

To maintain the program’s high standards, we continuously evaluate players in MIA SELECT NEXT. Those who do not meet performance expectations during the three-month period may be replaced, with new players being invited to join the team. This ensures that the program remains competitive and that all participants are fully committed to their growth and development.

For players who are eager to join the MIA SELECT BOYS, MIA SELECT GIRLS, or MIA SELECT NEXT programs but have not yet received an invitation, we offer Camps, Technique Lab sessions, and Open Tryouts. These events provide a pathway for new players to earn an invitation to our exclusive programs.

Our Camps and Technique Lab sessions are designed to develop skills in a focused, high-level environment, while Open Tryouts provide an opportunity for players to showcase their abilities and potentially earn a spot in MIA SELECT BOYS, MIA SELECT GIRLS, or MIA SELECT NEXT.

These offerings are perfect for players who are determined to improve their game and join the ranks of Hawaii’s best athletes, training under the guidance of our expert coaches and experiencing the competitive environment that defines MIA Elite Academy.

Cyrus Ryuichi Tran is a distinguished soccer professional with a rich background in both playing and coaching. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Cyrus moved to Japan at the age of six, where he began his soccer journey. He trained at the prestigious youth academy of FC Machida Zelvia and later excelled at the collegiate level in Japan. His playing career includes professional stints in the United States with Michigan Stars FC and ALBION San Diego, as well as a notable experience in Vietnam’s 1st division in 2024.

Cyrus’s expertise extends beyond the field as he is also an accomplished coach. He has coached youth soccer teams in Hawaii, bringing a wealth of knowledge and international experience to his coaching style. As the Co-Founder and Director of Soccer Operations at MIA Elite Academy, Cyrus is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of soccer talent, leveraging his global experience to develop young players both on and off the field. Through his leadership and vision, Cyrus continues to embody the spirit of “HAWAII TO THE WORLD” sharing the Aloha spirit and promoting excellence in soccer across the globe.
