What is MIA SELECT
MIA SELECT is an exclusive training program meticulously crafted for Hawaii’s top soccer prospects, dedicated to providing the highest level of training to help them achieve their future goals. Under the leadership of Cyrus Ryuichi Tran, a distinguished Hawaiian native with professional playing experience in both the United States and Vietnam, this invitation-only program delivers a unique and rigorous developmental experience tailored to cultivate elite athletes.
Our program is designed not only to enhance soccer skills but also to prepare participants for the next levels of their careers, whether that be as professional soccer players or as student-athletes competing for NCAA Division 1 scholarships. By focusing on advanced tactical, technical, and physical training, MIA SELECT aims to mold players into well-rounded individuals who excel both on and off the field.
We are committed to nurturing talent and ambition to its fullest potential, with a vision to see our athletes succeed at the highest levels of the sport. By participating in MIA SELECT, young athletes are set on a path that could lead to professional contracts or top-tier college soccer opportunities, making their mark in the world of soccer.
Coaching Staff
Cyrus Ryuichi Tran is a distinguished soccer professional with a rich background in both playing and coaching. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Cyrus moved to Japan at the age of six, where he began his soccer journey. He trained at the prestigious youth academy of FC Machida Zelvia and later excelled at the collegiate level in Japan. His playing career includes professional stints in the United States with Michigan Stars FC and ALBION San Diego, as well as a notable experience in Vietnam’s 1st division in 2024.
Cyrus’s expertise extends beyond the field as he is also an accomplished coach. He has coached youth soccer teams in Hawaii, bringing a wealth of knowledge and international experience to his coaching style. As the Co-Founder and Director of Soccer Operations at MIA Elite Academy, Cyrus is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of soccer talent, leveraging his global experience to develop young players both on and off the field. Through his leadership and vision, Cyrus continues to embody the spirit of “HAWAII TO THE WORLD” sharing the Aloha spirit and promoting excellence in soccer across the globe.
Program Details
MIA SELECT: Premier DevelopmentProgram for Hawaii’s Top Prospects
MIA SELECT is a specialized three-month program designed to nurture Hawaii’s top football prospects and help them achieve their future goals in the sport. This invitation-only initiative will accommodate up to 30 players, born between 2011 and 2014, who will be divided into two squads, SELECT A and SELECT B.
Program Duration:
- The initial program: September 1 to November 30, 2024
- The following program: December 1, 2024, to February 28, 2025
The program is designed to be ongoing, with future sessions planned beyond February 2025. Details of these subsequent programs may be subject to change but the commitment to continuing the development of Hawaii’s football talent remains steadfast.
Training Schedule:
- Team B: Sundays from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM
- Team A: Sundays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM
Locations: Kapiolani Park or Ala Moana Regional Park
The initial roster will be determined based on players’ past performances in MIA’s programs. To ensure consistency and focus, no changes will be made to the roster during the three-month period. At the conclusion of each program, our technical staff will reassess and adjust the roster as needed to uphold the quality of the program.
For aspiring players not initially selected, we offer the opportunity to demonstrate their skills at our regular group training sessions during the week, providing a pathway to be considered for future programs.
