MIA Irvine GK Training is a specialized soccer goalkeeper program designed for players aged 8 to 15 who want to enhance their goalkeeping skills. This program is part of MIA Elite Academy’s expansion into Irvine, CA, and focuses on developing technical abilities, reaction times, positioning, and decision-making in goalkeepers. With professional coaching, MIA Irvine GK Training offers a challenging environment where goalkeepers can improve their performance through personalized instruction and practical drills.

What Players Can Expect
Players in the MIA Irvine GK Training program can expect high-quality, focused training from expert coaches. Each session is designed to enhance their technical skills, including handling, diving, shot-stopping, and distribution. Players will also work on their fitness, agility, and mental strength—essential attributes for goalkeepers. The program is organized into two age groups:
- 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM: Players born in 2014-2016
- 4:30 PM to 5:45 PM: Players born in 2011-2013
Sessions are held twice a week (Monday and Wednesday) at Plaza Park, located at 610 Paseo Westpark, Irvine, CA 92606. Each session has a capacity of 6 spots to ensure focused coaching and individual attention. The participation fee is $40 per session.

Introducing the Coaching Staff
We are excited to introduce Mitchell Wilson, the head coach for the MIA Irvine GK Training program. Mitchell brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and a coach:

- UC San Diego (2023): Played in 14 matches for the Division I team and earned Big West Player of the Week honors.
- Loyola Marymount University (2018-2022): Appeared in 25 matches, including an NCAA tournament appearance, and was named WCC Player of the Week and Team Defensive MVP in 2022.
- Youth Coaching: Mitchell has served as an assistant coach for several teams, including Orange Coast College, Fountain Valley High School, and Pateadores S.C.
With his extensive background in collegiate and professional soccer, Mitchell is committed to creating a positive and challenging environment where young goalkeepers can thrive.
